If you’re known to squint or smile a lot (or have spent a lot of years doing it), then you may have noticed some lines around your eyes. These lines are usually referred to as crow’s feet. Crow’s feet isn’t a special case for those of us getting older, it’s actually quite common in younger people as well. They can also appear due to sun damage, your sleeping habits and free radicals. You may have tried creams and ointments, or cucumbers on your eyes at the day spa to get rid of them. They’re among the easiest lines to get and they certainly know how to stick around. Luckily for Los Angeles residents that wish to preserve their flawless looks, we know how to make crow’s feet go away! Our facilities in El Monte and Huntington Park offer multiple anti-aging treatments to accommodate the needs and preferences of our patients. There are a few different options that we offer for treating fine lines and wrinkles that you can read about below.

Chemical Peels

If you enjoy trips to the day spa and receiving facials, a chemical peel comes pretty close to the same experience. During this treatment, a specialist will use a chemical solution to exfoliate the lines and wrinkles on the top layer of your skin. The solution peels off, along with some dead skin cells. The rest of the exfoliated skin will peel off gradually over time. New, youthful skin will replace the skin that was ridden with lines and crow’s feet. It may take a few weeks to see the full effect of this treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a popular go-to treatment for fine lines such as crow’s feet. Fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane contain Hyaluronic Acid, or HA. This is a protein that is naturally in our bodies already, but the gel-like consistency of these injections help add volume to depressed areas. The gel also stimulates collagen production, which is what our skin relies on for fullness and a smooth surface.

Botox

Botox is a household name and continues to be the number one nonsurgical treatment in the nation. It works by essentially numbing, or stiffening, the muscles around the injection site. When you smile or squint, your muscles wouldn’t be able to form crow’s feet after the treatment.

For injections such as Botox and fillers, the amount of injections needed is specific to the patient and their goals.
