Types of Wrinkles

Wrinkles can have different names based on where they are located, how they form and when they’re visible. In turn, there are also different types of fillers to treat these various wrinkles. It helps to know some terminology and a little about the types of wrinkles that you can treat while deciding on a treatment. You might also want to consult with a specialist and ask about how to prevent further development of wrinkles in the future.

Dynamic Wrinkles

Years of frowning is not only bad for esteem, but it’s bad for your skin. Frown lines form between the eyebrows as deep folds. These wrinkles can be long-lasting or permanent if you frown often enough. This is an example of Dynamic Wrinkles. They’re wrinkles that occur when you make certain expressions, such as frown lines. Another suitable term would be Expression Wrinkles. Again, these are lines that can only be seen when you make expressions. You can get rid of them by relaxing the muscles in the face, or freezing them. Treatments such as Botox can assist with diminishing these wrinkles.

Static Wrinkles

Of course there are some wrinkles that don’t go away when we’re not being expressive. While dynamic wrinkles are caused by the movement in the face, static wrinkles are caused by aging (or lack of collagen) and gravity. Static wrinkles remain noticeable and over time are formed from what used to be dynamic wrinkles. Sometimes a combination of Botox and fillers may be needed to treat these wrinkles, but it depends on the individual and severity of the wrinkles. You might only need one or the other, which is why consultation is so important prior to scheduling a treatment.

Wrinkle Folds

Folds are more so creases that tend to happen between the nose and the mouth. A great example of this would be nasolabial folds. Nasolabial folds are laugh lines, which hang from the outer areas of the nose and droop downward around the mouth. This sagging of the skin causes an overlapping fold, hence the name. Treatments for folds typically include fillers. You should always schedule a consultation with a specialist to be sure that you receive the best possible treatment for your skin. Individual results may vary.
