MiraDry Los Angeles: Available NOW in El Monte, Huntington Park & Carson, California

miradry los angelesExcess Sweating is Miserable.

You explain to others constantly that you aren’t nervous, and have to bring extra towels or tissues wherever you go in case of an emergency. You feel wet all the time, and sometimes you stink. When you’re not on the way home from the gym, or coming back from an intensive exercise, you feel like an imposter for sweating so much. You hate seeing white marks on your dark clothing.

Is there a solution for the uncomfortable condition known as hyperhidrosis?

Yes—MiraDry! It’s available at Plush Derma, at one of our three locations in Southern California: Carson, El Monte or Huntington Park.

What is MiraDry?

This revolutionary technology is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment with no downtime! It is approved for use in individuals that are 18 years or older. Stop excessive sweating and the odor in your underarms!

Is it Okay to Stop Sweat Glands from Sweating?

If you’re anxious that this treatment is somehow bad for you, don’t worry—sweating serves an important function as in temperature regulation, but only 2% of your body’s sweat glands are in your armpits. Perspiration will continue on other areas of your body. It won’t hurt you to treat your armpits!

How Does MiraDry Work?

This awesome technology stops your sweat glands from ever sweating again.* The miraWave energy destroys sweat glands and leaves you with a dry sensation. Sweat glands will not regrow back.

What is Treatment Like?

We numb your underarm and place the handpiece on the skin. Next, we activate the handpiece. You will feel a slight suction. The handpiece cools the top layer of skin to protect it while it heats the bottom layers, destroying sweat glands in the process.

How Long Does it Take for Results to Show Up?

You should notice a same-day improvement in the sensation of your armpits or other treated area.

miradry los angelesHow Many Treatments Will I Require?

Dr. Reza will examine you during your consultation and hear your history with sweating. Based on his assessment, you may receive just a single treatment or a few, although it’s common to just get one.

Does it Hurt?

The treatment does not hurt because your underarms are numbed. However, some people do experience some discomfort.

Will I Experience Any Downtime?

Fortunately, your MiraDry treatment does not entail much downtime. However, we do recommend you do not exercise vigorously or do any activity that may induce excessive sweating for a few days. What you may experience in coming days is discomfort in the area, but this side effect is temporary.

How Popular is this Treatment?

Over 95,000 MiraDry treatments have been administered worldwide by doctors and other authorized medical providers.

What are the Side Effects Like?

The side effects of MiraDry include temporary soreness, swelling, numbness and tingling in the treated area. As your underarms or treated area heals, these sensations will clear up. It may take up to a few weeks for these feelings to completely resolve. You should experience no lingering side effects after the sweat glands disappear, although you may have that short-term change in feeling there that may take a while to go away.

How Much Does MiraDry Cost?

This procedure is an investment available at a special price compared to other MiraDry providers. Please call in at one of our three locations for more specific information about MiraDry pricing.

Does MiraDry affect the Lymph Nodes?

Fortunately, MiraDry does not impact the lymph nodes, which are situated much deeper than the sweat glands. Treatment is limited to the area where sweat glands are. It is designed to protect deeper tissue, warding off more systemic effects on your health.

How Popular is the Treatment for Sweat Reduction?

Very. MiraDry has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show, the Plastic Surgery Channel, the Huffington Post, Elle, ABC News, Refinery 29 and countless other media channels.

Learn the Devious History of Antiperspirant

Let’s go over a brief history of sweating.  In 1912, Edna Murphey tried to sell an antiperspirant, Odorono, to a public largely disinterested in the topic of bodily functions. Unable to sell the product, she hired an ad agency to convince people, especially women, that perspiring was shameful and that its associated smell is offensive.

Antiperspirants are expensive, too: regularly using them can be a hassle and a bother. Why don’t you just throw them away and call it quits on this category of purchase that otherwise will remain with you until your last day on this Earth? Plus, they may not work very well if you suffer from hyperhidrosis. Clinical antiperspirants may have varied effectiveness, while MiraDry is an easy-to-receive procedure with a more lasting solution to excessive sweating.

Know the Types of Sweat Glands

Eccrine sweat glands are found everywhere and are important for thermoregulation, or keeping your body at a healthy internal temperature. Physical activity or temperature (or the combination you experience when running in too-hot weather!) can stimulate these glands. Sweat glands work when sweat exits and evaporates on the surface of your skin, which helps cool your body.

Apocrine glands (found on feet, underarms and palms) become active when you experience emotional distress. They may have played an evolutionary role to escape predators by assisting motion, but their onset in armpits and the public area during puberty indicate that they may even exude pheromones.

A third sweat gland, apoeccrine, has both eccrine and apocrine characteristics.

Why Does Sweat Smell?

Sweat smells because of the byproducts of bacteria that thrive off sweat, not the sweat itself (which is odorless).  The problem is greater with apocrine glands, such as those found in your armpits. Apocrine is 20 percent lipids and proteins, so bacteria love to feed on it. Blame that onion-y scent on your sweat glands, which help bacteria thrive.

Kiss Sweat and Odor Goodbye.

MiraDry is an extraordinary, FDA-approved treatment with incredible medical implications. In an hour (or less), you can receive cleaner-feeling, less sweaty armpits. MiraDry is available now at Plush Derma in Los Angeles areas, including El Monte, Carson and Huntington Park, California!
